Senator Jon Kyl (R-AZ) said at a TEA Party Town Hall meeting in his home state on Friday, after a private meeting he said he had with President Obama, that securing the border is being held hostage for political leverage.
A cell phone camera captured this statement from Senator Kyle: “Here’s what the President said, ‘ The problem is’ he said ‘If we secure the border, then you all won’t have any reason to support comprehensive immigration reform.’ In other words, they’re holding it hosting.” And then there were gasps in the room because of what they had just heard.
It’s unbelievable that this administration would allow the states along the border, particularly Arizona, to suffer the mass invasion of illegals and the consequences that follow with an increase in violent crimes and such. It is unconscionable to say the least.
The response coming from the White House Communications Director Dan Pfeiffer said, “The President didn’t say that and Senator Kyl knows it. There are more resources dedicated toward border security today than ever before, but, as the President has made clear, truly securing the border will require a comprehensive solution to a broken immigration system.”
Excuse me, but the system is not broken… it just isn’t being enforced by Congress in many administrations. It doesn’t need fix’n, it just needs a White House and Congressional Representatives who are committed to enforcing the LAW!
And then Fox News had an immediate response from Ryan Patmintra, Senator Jon Kyl’s representative: “There were two people in that meeting, and Dan Pfeiffer was not one of them. Senator Kyl stands by his remarks, and the White House spokesman’s pushback that you must have comprehensive immigration reform to secure the borders only confirms Senator Kyl’s account.”
Keep in mind that all of this has come on the heels of Arizona finding out about the White House’s legal challenge to Arizona Law 1070. But they didn’t find out about it from the White House, it came from a slip on June 8th, from Hillary Clinton’s interview on Ecuadorian television. Do you really believe it was a slip? She’s been doing things lately to separate herself from Obama, and letting people know what he’s doing without compromising her position.
Also keep in mind that Senator Kyl had asked others in the meeting to leave because he wanted time alone with the President, so he was the only one in the room with the President at the time this was supposedly said. Basically, what Senator Kyl relates from this meeting is that the President said he won’t secure the borders because that is the hook he needs to get Republicans on board for his immigration reform. This is something that Senator Harry Reid continues to say he wants to get pushed through before they take off for the August Recess. So now we have the White House coming back and calling Senator Kyl a liar. Who do you believe?
The entire briefing from the White House is streaming live right now on foxnews.com.
This breaking news is unbelievable. Do we really have a President who refuses to secure the border because he is holding it hostage to get votes from Republicans? It’s outrageous if true, which I believe is true! What do you have to say on this subject?
I will followup on this story as more information becomes available.
