EU Warns of Democracy Ending in Greece, Spain and Portugal. Will the U.S. follow the same path?

“Democracy could “collapse” in Greece, Spain and Portugal unless the debt crisis is controlled, the head of the European Commission reportedly has warned.”
We’ve been seeing all of this unfold before our eyes as we watch the evening news.
There’s rioting in the streets over budget cuts, lowering of wages and pensions, and disagreements between labor unions and a government that’s running out of money.
Are situations in the United States heading us in the same direction? Will labor issues force the American people to break and cause the same reaction as we see in places like Greece?
We can hardly believe what we see: the unrest going on around the world over disagreements between the people and their governments.
It is all part of the “signs of the times”, as discussed in the scriptures. In Daniel, it speaks about ten and half years of tribulations, beginning in the year of the earthquakes. Is that now?
What will our future look like a year from now, even six months from now? It is unnerving to consider everything that we see happening and all that has been predicted to happen.
Should we close our eyes and ignore it all, thinking that what we can’t see won’t be real?
The truth is, “It Is What It Is”! We can ignore it, fight it, worry about it, or we can do what we can to make our lives more comfortable in the midst of calamity and chaos.
I choose to consider the worst, decide on a plan, and implement that plan. If it turns out better than expected, then great; I’m happy and grateful. If it isn’t what I expected and I did not plan correctly, then all I can say is OhWell-ItsOk, I’ve done what I can and after that, I’ll have to depend on the Lord and others within the community to help me.
What can we do that’s within our realm of abilities?
What else can we do? Shouldn’t we prepare our families emotionally, spiritually, and physically to handle what might be ahead of us? Shouldn’t we seek counsel from experts? Shouldn’t we engage older family members in our preparations and ask for their input?
Ignoring the “handwriting on the wall” by not doing anything is a bad position to be in right now. Denial of reality or ignoring it will cause us to react in default because we have not planned for an event or we have not the means to carry out necessary activities that make a situation easier for us and the family.
I read a report last month, but unfortunately I don’t remember where, that the banks will start to fail in June and that, by September 2010, 138,000 banks will fall. If this is true, if this comes to pass, what will you do? How will you take care of the family if the dollar crashes?
We don’t know the answers any better than you do. What we do know is that we have the following choices:
If we choose not to think about these things and we do nothing about it, our lives will be more miserable when things get worse.
It will not matter that we don’t believe in the scriptures because, if the scriptures are true and we are living in the times that have been foretold, then it will all happen. We need to accept this fact and change the way we do things or we will reap the consequences. “It is what it is” right?

Please take these warnings seriously! I truly believe we are in very perilous times. It’s much like us being on the Titanic (which is NOT supposed to sink) and now we are about to hit an iceberg. One minute we are all fine and enjoying living our lives as usual, then the next we are in frigid waters and fighting for our lives.
